Food Shelf: North Anoka County Emergency Food Shelf & Closet (NACE)

What: Serve people in your community facing food and
clothing insecurity by distributing resources such as clothing,
food, holiday meal packs, birthday bags, weekend packs and
back to school supplies.

Opportunities 

Bridgelink exists to mobilize people and resources to BLESS our community. BridgeLink chooses to partner with other not for profit organizations doing specific work to help to serve individuals experiencing a crisis with these standing needs. Some of these opportunities are perfect for just one person and some are built for groups, so no matter what your availability is, there is a place for you to get involved!

What: Help a senior to remain in their home by raking the lawn
and some light home repairs.

What: Volunteer opportunities might include home visits, client transportation, donation delivery driver, service project participant, warm-line support, and community partner and donor.

Anoka Community Mission

What: Anoka Community Mission is a food and clothing shelf
helping those in need throughout Anoka County. Help with
distribution.

When: 1st Sunday of each month, occasionally 5th Sunday

Bridging - Dresser Building

What: Groups can purchase ready to assemble dressers for $155.00 each, build them in teams, and donate them to Bridging.

Bridging - Warehouse Help

What: Help us load/unload trucks, sort through donated goods, inspect linens, and restock shelves for client shopping. Specific projects will be determined on the day you volunteer based on inventory and final group size.

When: All shifts are booked in advance. Year-round openings. Confirmation details will be sent to the group coordinator so you can easily share with the team! Available weekdays, some Saturdays, 2-3 hours in length.
Typical shifts: 1 – 4 pm, 2 – 5 pm, 4 – 6 pm

Perfect For: Individuals or groups. All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older (with or without an adult).

Care Portal

What: Care Portal empowers church members to engage in
direct relational help by providing for material needs in their
local community through Anoka County Foster Care System.
You would be notified to garage sale find, purchase or donate
needed items. Once items are located, a Foster Care social
worker is notified and provides address and contact
information for delivery.
When: One time project or on-going

Elevate Hope House - "Craftea" or "Partea" Party Host

What: Your small group can host a crafting event to raise awareness to end homelessness for single moms and their children. This event can help to support Elevate’s mission. Elevate will bring DIY craft kit materials to your location or a partnering location.

Family Promise (Meal Train)

What: The Meal Train program is an ongoing need for families in Family Promise programs facing both food insecurity and housing insecurity.
When & Where: Food is cooked where your group decides and then dropped off at the clients home through coordination with Family Promise.

Family Promise (Move-In Baskets)

What: Family Promise is in need of Move-In Baskets prepared
for families moving into housing. The group would purchase
cleaning products, household supplies and a vacuum for a
family. List will be provided.

I-CAN

What: I-CAN is a Christian ministry that provides job readiness
training for inner-city high school students via a rigorous
program that prepares them for life after school. Individuals or
groups can engage with high school students in a mentorship
capacity, or provide food for the dinner provided through the
ministry.

Legacy Thrift Store

What: Assist customers, run the cash register, process
donations, and/or pick up donations.
When: Volunteer on a regular schedule each week or just once
a month. Flexibility to accommodate schedule and needs.
Groups can serve on an evening with prior arrangements for a
special project.

What: Help with meal prep, serve meals, and assist with
dishing and packing meals for offsite residents.
When: Available 7 days a week
Serve Shifts: 5am-7am, 12pm-1pm, 5:30pm-6:30pm
Other: Purchase food, make a meal to deliver &/or serve to the
residents of Stepping Stone

What: Help residents move into new housing. Pick up
donations from donors for our residents. Possibly dismantle

Sleep In Heavenly Peace

What: Bed Building & Delivery. Sand wood and assemble headboards, footboards, side rails and slats to make beds for Anoka County area children that don’t have a bed of their own.
